Preparation of suppository base

The stage of preparation of the suppository base begins with the sizing of its components. The preparation of the suppository mass is carried out in a reactor, where the ready base is fed with compressed air and drug substances are added. As an example, the LT series reactor-mixer manufactured by the Italian company ZUMA s.r.l. is used. Mixers of this series are designed for the preparation of suppository mass, creams, ointments, etc. and are available in four sizes with the volume of the working tank 30, 60, 140 and 250 liters. The working tank of the reactor is a polished stainless steel tank with a water jacket for heating and melting of the mixture. The tank can be rotated by 90° for easy draining and washing. The agitator blades of the reactor are equipped with scraper blades. All working parts of the apparatus are made of stainless steel. The mixer reactor is equipped with safety guards and is manufactured according to international standard.

Technical specifications

In some designs, the sludge is removed after lowering the false bottom by moving the filter cloth belt, which passes through the regeneration chamber at the end of the sludge discharge. Druk filters are known, the body of which can be rotated by 90-180° in the trunnions fixed on its cylindrical part. Druk filters are used to separate medium and well-filtered suspensions in medium and low-tonnage productions.
