The next step is to fill the body of the capsule (the long half) with powder. In a semi-automatic machine it takes considerably more seconds to fill the capsule than in an automatic machine. And the principle of powder feeding is completely different. There is a large hopper, it is poured powder (not microgranules) then screw (screw) powder pressed down, the neck of the hopper comes to the form and presses the powder into the capsules forced. I.e. the powder is not dumped by itself but is forced into the capsules. In this case, the mold under the hopper neck rotates 360 degrees for a certain time, thus each capsule gets the same amount of powder. Sometimes my customers run the powder under the hopper neck for 2 laps, and this allows some powder to be pressed into the capsules.

The screw hopper eliminates the need to buy a granulator, granulation technology and many problems with powder preparation. The screw hopper also guarantees the same weight of powder in the capsules, no air voids in the powder, etc. After the mold with capsule body and powder is filled, the operator puts on half of the mold with lids and combines the capsules by snapping them. In general, to speed up the work and increase productivity, I advise customers to have 2-3 molds for each capsule size. If the semi-automatic machine put 3 operators, well or 2, you can make 20-30000 capsules easily. The first operator fills empty capsules molds, separates them and passes them to the second operator. And when the molds are free of finished capsules, he fills them with empty capsules again. The second operator inserts the molds under the screw hopper and after filling combines and snaps the capsules.
