Powder pressing takes place in the matrix. The finished tablet rubs its sides against the inner walls of the die. The greater the thickness of the finished tablet, the more force is required to push the tablet out of the die. Pushing a 30 mm thick tablet out is a very big problem. And obviously, the abrasion of the die inside will be as fast as possible. And the cost of molds is not cheap.
